Reading Group
Reading group is a great way to get up to speed with the cutting edge of the field. If one-on-one meeting is for a personalized learning, reading group is for giving everyone the same baseline knowledge.
Workflow:
- One subset of chapter/proof per week.
- Agustinus points which chapter/section to self-study at home.
- During reading group, one of the participants present the chapter/proof.
- Repeat until materials exhausted.
Fall 2026: Functional Analysis

- Why: Chemistry is based on quantum mechanics. Quantum mechanics is functional analysis.
Winter 2027: Stochastic Processes

- Why: Gaussian processes are stochastic processes. Modern generative models are derived from stochastic dynamics.
Summer 2027: Riemannian Geometry

- Lee, John M. "Introduction to Riemannian manifolds (2nd edition)". Springer, 2018.
- Why: Many things live in non-Euclidean space. Gravity is Riemannian manifold. Atmospheric dynamics (for predicting weather) is on a sphere.
